Which libertarian books should I start with?
I have become very interested in libertarianism and the Libertarian Party during the last few months. I want to study it deeper. If you had to pick one book to read to get started, which would it be? Then maybe books number 2 and 3? Can you steer me in the most effective way so I can catch up? Thank you.
Naturally, I’m partial to my own book, “Healing Our World,” which you can order from the Advocates or obtain as a free download at my web site, http://www.ruwart.com/. If you combine “Healing” with one of Harry Browne’s books (“The Great Libertarian Offer” or “Why Government Doesn’t Work”), you’ll have a good balance. “Libertarianism in One Lesson” by David Bergland is a concise treatise on rights that will round out your ‘education.’ All of these are available from the Advocates by phone, mail, or online at http://www.theadvocates.org/.
